Panasonic SF4D-A28 is a sensor array designed for compact and robust arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features suitable for environments requiring the highest safety levels (PL e / SIL3). It includes a light curtain sensor with an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability compatible with 8-core or 12-core cables, and an interlock function that supports both manual and auto reset. Additionally, it offers an override function (with 12-core cable) and a fixed blanking function. The housing is made of aluminum, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower caps. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and is rated with a degree of protection of IP67. The net height, indicating the protective height, is 1110 mm. It features 2 x digital outputs (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, and 1 x digital output (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, and from 80cm to 15m, or 2.625 to 49.213 feet in long mode. Current consumption is rated at 100mA / 0.1 A for the emitter and 140mA / 0.14 A for the receiver. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 45mm or 1.772 inches.
