Panasonic SF4B-A48C is a sensor array designed for arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features, categorized under safety Category 4 / PL e / SIL3. It is a light curtain sensor equipped with an emission halt function, external device monitoring, ELCA function for reducing mutual interference, interlock function with manual/auto reset, override function through a 12-core cable, and a large multi-purpose indicator for muting settings. The housing is made of polycarbonate, and it comes pre-wired with a 5m 8-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable terminated with bare end flying leads. This sensor offers a degree of protection rated at IP65, with a protective height of 1943.4 mm. It features 2 x digital outputs (Selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2 and 1 x digital output (Selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 0.3m to 7m (0.984 to 22.966ft), with a current consumption of 80mA (0.08 A) for the emitter and 100mA (0.1 A) for the receiver. The light color is infrared (IR), with a wavelength of 850 nm, and it can detect objects as small as 45mm (1.772"). The sensor's response time is 80ms - 90ms (0.08 - 0.09 s) for ON and 14ms (0.014 s) for OFF, including outputs short-circuit protection among its safety features.
